Many companies in the equipment industry offer both rentals and sales. Quite often though, rental is emphasized and sales is a sideline -- or vice versa. At A to Z, we rent and sell with equal enthusiasm because there isn't "one size that fits all" when it comes to your equipment needs. We want to provide whatever solution is best for you. When it comes to equipment, you have "all the options" at A to Z. You can rent it, you can buy it new, you can buy it used, you can get parts for it, you can have it serviced or repaired and you can get financing for larger purchases. Our motto is "We sell what we rent, we service what we sell," and you know that it has to be sturdy equipment to stand up to the rigors of rental use.
We look for good people and train them from the ground up so
they become acquainted with the equipment and your requirements. Our
staff, now over 140 strong, is dedicated, well informed and focused on
their main function -- taking care of our customers. Family owned from
the beginning, we intend to continue with our ambitious growth plans and
that takes good people.
Beginning as a small, home based business in 1960, A to Z has grown to a multi-million dollar firm with four large, full service locations. At each of the A to Z stores, you'll find a spacious display showroom, a huge inventory of whole goods for rental and purchase, a fully stocked Parts Department and completely equipped Service Shops. Our signature feature is our indoor drive-thru rental pick-up and drop-off lane where your equipment is quickly loaded and unloaded from your vehicle, all the while protected from the Arizona sun.
We are proud to be dealers for many of the world's leading
equipment manufacturers. Names like John Deere, Massey Ferguson, New
Holland, Honda, Stihl, Exmark, Echo, Stone and many more. When we
sell you a product, you can be confident it will stand up to heavy use
because we stock our rental fleet with the same products.
We can't help you if we're not here when you need us. A to Z is open Monday through Saturday. We open early. We have an up-to-date fleet of
delivery vehicles if you need your equipment delivered and picked up. We
accept cash, checks, major credit cards or invite you to open a
commercial or governmental charge account.
What are the benefits of Renting from A to Z?
If I don't know what equipment I need, will someone help me? Top
- Cost Control - At A to Z, the rate we quote is the rate you pay. Unlike most rental companies,
we don't "nickel and dime" you with hidden fees or unexpected charges such as a "damage waiver". You know exactly how much a rental is costing you.

What do I need to rent equipment from A to Z? Top
You will need a valid Arizona driver's license and a major credit card to rent equipment from A to Z. Debit cards are accepted, but not recommended.
Can I reserve equipment in advance? Top
We invite you to reserve equipment in advance to insure availability. Reserve your equipment as early
as possible. Please cancel your reservation if your plans change. Reservations are gladly taken over the phone. See Party Rental Policies for specifics on party and events reservations.
Will someone show me how to use the equipment I rent? Top
Our rental service techs will show you the safe and correct operation of the equipment that you rent. It will be started for you before it is loaded into your vehicle, or when it is delivered, and any questions
you have will be answered.
Can I buy a piece of equipment that I have rented? Top
All of our rental equipment is for sale at any time. Our used equipment is a great buy because we maintain it so that it is always ready to rent. When a piece of equipment can stand up to tough rental use, then you can be sure it is durable and easy-to-maintain. If you want to buy the actual piece of equipment that you have rented, we will apply a portion of the rental charges toward the purchase price.
Will A to Z donate rental equipment for my charitable event? Top
A to Z gets numerous solicitations every day for the donation of equipment. These requests are for worthy causes and we would like to accommodate every one, but it is simply not possible. We do, however, carefully consider your request for donations or a sponsorship. Please download, complete and return this form at least two weeks prior to your event. We also ask that, when submitting your request, you provide a list of required equipment that is as specific as possible.
At A to Z, the rental rate we quote is the rate you pay. We don't "nickel and dime" you with unexpected charges or hidden fees such as "Damage Waiver" Insurance.
We sell time. We charge for all time out including Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. Equipment is rented by the day, week or 4 week period. Some equipment can be rented for a 3 or 4 hour rental minimum. One day's rent is up to a 24 hour period. Example -- If you rent equipment for a one day period at 10 a.m. one day, then it is due for return by 10 a.m. the next day. If you rent the equipment for a week on Monday at noon, it is due to be returned before the next Monday at noon.
Special Weekend Rental Rates: Top
Equipment rented after 4 p.m. on Saturday can be returned by 730 a.m. (8:30 a.m. winter) on Monday for a 1 day charge. Equipment rented after 4 p.m. on Friday can be returned by 730 a.m. on Monday for a 2 day charge. If equipment is returned after 7:30 a.m. (8:30 a.m. winter) on Monday, full rental charges will apply. Metered equipmenwill be incurred if meter readings exceed these hours.
Special Overnight Rental Rates: Top
Equipment rented after 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday can be returned within the first hour or business the next day for a 3 hour charge. This rate is restricted to equipment for which a 3 hour rental rate is available. Metered equipment is restricted to 3 hours use. Additional charges will be incurred if the meter reading exceeds 3 hours.
Your prompt return of equipment will save you money.
Rentals fees are collected in advance, when you pick up, or upon delivery of equipment. We accept cash (no cash payments accepted for delivered equipment), approved personal and business checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Commercial or governmental charge accounts are available, subject to prior approval.
All equipment rentals are subject to a deposit. Deposit will be refunded if equipment is returned in good condition, and at the time agreed. In lieu of a cash deposit, an imprint of your credit card will be taken to guarantee the equipment will be returned in the same condition in which it was rented to you.
Replacement cost or repair charges will be assessed to you for any lost, broken, dirty, stolen or damaged equipment.
Can I give you my credit card information over the phone? Top
For your protection, we require positive identification of the customers in our store renting equipment, and we need to verify that they are authorized to use the credit card presented to us. We do not accept credit card information verbally over the phone, however we will fax or e-mail an authorization form to you. The form must be completely filled out, signed and faxed back to A to Z. In addition, we ask that you fax a copy of both sides of your credit card and a copy of your driver's license. Contact your nearest A to Z location to request a credit card authorization form. Be sure to include your fax number.
Do you keep my credit card information on file? Top
We do not keep credit card information on file. Given the complex nature of the rental transaction, we believe it is safer for our customers if we gather valid credit card information only at the time of each transaction.
Can I open a commercial charge account? Top
We welcome commercial and governmental accounts.
Just click here to download an account application. Print the application, fill it out completely, and fax it to 602-468-9925. Your application will be carefully considered. Please allow up to five business days for processing.
Delivery and pick up service is available at an additional charge. Charges are based on the distance from our stores to the delivery site. We will give you an exact quote for delivery and pickup charges when you place your order. See below for additional policies regarding Party and Event rentals.
Before delivery of your rental equipment, our dispatcher or driver will call to confirm that there will be someone at the delivery location to accept delivery and verify that all items you ordered are being delivered. Similarly, our dispatcher or driver will call to verify that you are ready to have your equipment picked up. If we are unable to reach you at the phone number(s) you have given, we will not deliver or pick up your equipment until we are able to get in contact with you. Please be aware that delays in delivery or pick up due to inability to reach you could result in additional charges.
Please be available by phone during scheduled windows of delivery and pick up.
Delivery and Pick Up Scheduling During Business Hours: Top
If you have requested and received approval for a specific time within a 2 hour window, you will be charged the standard delivery rate plus $50.00.
At our standard delivery charges, all delivery/pickup times are scheduled in 1/2 day windows. The morning window is from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The afternoon window is from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.
If you have requested and received approval for a specific time within a 1 hour window, you will be charged the standard delivery rate plus $75.00.
Delivery Locations: Top
All deliveries are "Tail Gate", meaning our truck will pull up to the requested address or location and unload rental equipment near the truck. It is the the customer's responsibility to get the rental items where they need to go. i.e. inside a home or building, in the back yard, up any stairs, etc.
All delivery requests other than "tail gate" will be charged by time. Please let us know if you will need this service so that we can arrange for staffing and additional time. Charges will be calculated at $75.00 per person, per hour. If any equipment damage should occur during transport from tailgate to another location, the customer accepts all responsibility. A to Z equipment staff will use reasonable care, but cannot be held responsible for damage to property during such transport.
Preparation of Equipment for Pick up: Top
All rental equipment must be cleaned and staged where it was dropped off.
The equipment must be ready for pick up during the scheduled time window. If the equipment is not ready for pick up during the scheduled window, an additional trip will be required. The charge will be a one way standard delivery rate for each unsuccessful attempt at pick up. You are responsible for the security and care of the equipment until it has been picked up.
Delivery and Pick Up Scheduling Outside of Normal Business Hours: Top
Deliveries and pick ups before or after business hours or on Sunday are available on a limited basis and only when scheduled a minimum of one week in advance. You will be charged the standard delivery rate plus $150.00. All other policies listed above apply to these deliveries and pick ups.
Same Day Delivery and Pick Up: Top
Same day delivery and pick up is available if our delivery schedule for that day allows. You must inform us of this need at the time the delivery is scheduled. If our schedule does not allow for same day pick up, we will pick up the following day at no extra charge.
Reservations, Deposits, Refunds - Winter Holidays - Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years
Due to the tremendous demand for Party and Event items during the three winter holidays,
are in effect so that we may accommodate every customer.
Reservations and DepositsTop
Please reserve party and event equipment in advance to insure availability. Reserve your equipment as early as possible. In the past, we have disappointed customers at times when items are reserved for someone else only to have that customer no-show or cancel at the last minute.
A to Z requires a 100% deposit on every winter holiday party order to make it a firm reservation. This deposit is collected so that we know the order is firm and we can accommodate every customer.
If you are undecided about your event, we will write a quote rather than a reservation. When your plans are firm, you can call or come in and we will change the quote to a reservation. Your 100% deposit will be due at that time.
If a reserved order is substantially increased, an additional deposit may be required.
Cancellations and Refunds Top
We realize things happen and that sometimes events cancel for a variety of reasons. We will refund your entire deposit if your order is cancelled prior to 72 hours before the scheduled reservation. If your order is cancelled within the final 48 hours, you will be charged 50% of the total order and the balance of your deposit will be refunded. If your order is cancelled within the final 24 hours, you will be charged 75% of the total order and the balance of your deposit will be refunded. In cases of a No Show/No Call, there will be no refund.

Party and Event Rentals - Cancellations and Deposits: (Exept Holidays Shown Above) Top
We realize things happen and that sometimes events cancel for a variety of reasons. We will refund your entire deposit if your order is cancelled prior to 48 hours before the scheduled reservation. If your order is cancelled within the final 48 hours, you will be charged 25% of the total rental fee and the balance of your deposit will be refunded. If your order is cancelled the day of delivery, you will also be charged 25% of the quoted delivery charge, and the balance of the your deposit will be refunded.
Party and Event Rentals - Setup and Strike: Top
Setup and strike (take down) services are available for a fee and must be arranged at least 24 hours prior to delivery.
The fee per Table is $1.00 for setup and $1.00 for take down.
The fee per Chair is $.25 for setup and $.25 for take down.
Setup and strike for Linens, Tableware and Flatware is not available.
The fee per section of Stage is $12.50 for setup and $12.50 for take down.
NOTE: Setup and strike fees are included in the rental rates for 20' x 20' peaked tents and for dance floors.
Party and Event Rentals - Preparation for Pick Up: Top
All equipment must be cleaned and staged where it was dropped off. Chairs and Tables must be stacked.
If you have rented dishes, glasses, silverware, chafing dishes or any other item that you used for food or drinks - everything must be well rinsed. If these items are returned with food or drink remaining, there will be a cleaning charge of $75.00 per person, per hour.
If you have rented linens, please return in plastic bags after shaking out all food and paper products, including confetti-style products. Please DO NOT TIE the tops of the bags as mold may grow! No credit for is allowed for linens returned unused.
